San Francisco

I took a trip to California recently. Flew into San Francisco and stayed in a hostel like I was backpacking through Europe. Hostels are a solo travelers best friend. You get the inside scoop about a city and are always bound to meet the most interesting people. I stayed at Pacific Tradewinds and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Lovely people, clean living situation and convenient location in the city and near public transportation.

I explored San Francisco solo by strolling through the mind blowingly extravagant China town down to the harbor where I hung out with the sea lions and saw how close Alcatraz is.  I got breakfast on the very Italian Columbus Avenue and then promptly walked off all of the calories by getting a bit lost walking up a few large hills (an unavoidable part of this city).

When my traveling partner finally arrived, she scooped me from the side of the road and we began our road trip into the country of wine…
